Teen Driver Ed
Our school is certified to teach the state required course for licensing before age 18 with the Drug and Alcohol and Driving Awareness Program course built in for a more effective educational experience. Because we train instructors state wide, our staff influences teens all over the state to be come better, safer drivers. We welcome you and your teen to become a part of our family.

Legislative Changes Effective May 1, 2010
In addition to the 14 hours of In-car instruction received at a Licensed Driver Education School, there is a requirement of an additional 20 hours of Behind-the-Wheel driving; 10 of those 20 hours must be done at night. The additional 20 hours:
- will be monitored by the parent or guardian
- must be completed in the presence of an individual:
• who holds a valid driver’s license
• is 21 or older,
• has at least one year of driving experience
• who is occupying the seat next to the driver
A log will be given to the parent or guardian at the time of registration at Colony Driving School. The completed, signed log must be turned in to the Department of Public Safety along with the final paperwork from Colony Driving School.
